Like many other constituencies our boundaries change depending on the different elections being held. Our Parliamentary Constituency boundary is not coterminous with any Local Authority. Most of Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is within the Constituency boundary.
There are some anomalies. These are:
Four wards that are within MVDC that are not with the Parliamentary Boundary. These are the wards in Ashtead and Leatherhead. For Parliamentary Elections these sit with Epsom and Ewell Constituency. Click here for Epsom and Ewell Labour Party.
Another is, three wards to the east in Horley are within the the Parliamentary Boundary but are outside the boundary of MVDC. These lie within the Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. Click here for Reigate Labour Party.
Lastly, Ewhurst and Ellens Green sit within the Parliamentary Boundary but its council is Waverley Borough Council
I hope you’re keeping up?
MVDC and Reigate elections take place three out of every four years. When these elections take place a third of all the council seats are up for re-election. The year MVDC doesn’t have an election Surrey County Council holds their elections. The Boroughs of Epsom & Ewell and Waverley hold elections once every four years.
