Centenary of Women’s Suffrage
Centenary of Women’s Suffrage

The Dorking and Horley Labour Women’s Forum was set up in Autumn 2018 with the aim of increasing women’s participation at all levels of the Labour Party and reaching out to the wider community.

A workshop in November 2018 established, among other things that:

• The Forum brings women together to empower each other

• The Forum engages with women’s campaigns and groups both inside and outside the Party

• Meetings are both motivating and sociable, and are held at a variety of times and in a variety of places

Events such as training sessions, political education, coffee mornings, visits to places of particular interest etc. are hosted in different locations around Dorking and Horley.

The Women’s Forum is a formal branch of the Labour Party. All female members of the Labour party in the Dorking and Horley Labour Party are automatically members, and can become committee members, too.

Labour Women’s Network

LWN was founded more than thirty years ago to secure women’s equality in the Labour Party.

We train and empower women to change the culture of their local parties, stand for public office and be ready to lead.

We fight sexism and discrimination and campaign for necessary changes in Labour’s policy, practice and culture.

We believe in sisterhood no matter your shade of red, and aim to bring diverse Labour women together to make our voice heard. Find out more about Labour Women’s Network here.
